Matapouri Holiday Units

Henderson RSA owns a group of units in beautiful Matapouri Bay.

These are available to Members and also members of other RSA's. There is a onsite caretaker who is there to ensure your stay is peaceful and relaxing.

Rates vary according to seasons and school holidays, minimum rates per unit range from $35 - $45 per night. With additional charges per person. This makes for a very reasonable holiday.

Activities

There are a number of activities apart from all the normal water sport activities.

Poor Knights Islands: World reknowned Marine Reserve. Day trips available from Tutukaka Fishing Marina. Day fishing trips also available.

Tutukaka Hotel: Hotel, takaways and fishing club.

Ngunguru: All RSA members are welcome at the Sports and Recreation center. Nine hole golf, squash, badminton.

Walks in the area

Tutukaka Reserve (located between Tutukaka and Matapouri)
Walk begins at half tide, down hill, across beach, up to lighthouse at Tutukaka Point. Easy walk including steps.
Approx 1 1/2 hours

Horseshoe Bay
Over private property - by arrangement only.
Approx 1 hour

Matapouri Beach
Matapouri Hole in the wall at northern end and right side of beach. Possible to carry onto Mermaid Pools at low tide. Difficult access. Along Headland track to Whale Bay 1 1/2 hours

Soda Springs
Clements Rd through private land to Matapouri Reserve. Check with the local commune for directions

Whananaki Coastal Walk
End of Sandy Bay across farm. Allow 2 hours each way
